“JOHNSON'S FLORIDA” New York: Johnson and Ward, c. 1864. Lithographed map with original hand-coloring. Archivally closed tear upper right margin into map 1 inch. (Image: 12 x 15 1/4'')
This attractive historical map depicts Florida with its counties named and in contrasting colors. Topographical features are shown with major towns, cities, forts, roads, rail and water routes identified (including proposed canal routes).
Also provided is a very detailed inset of the ''Plan of the Florida Keys'' which notes the ''Indian Hunting Grounds''. A very informative view of the state as it was known during the Civil War.
