This map depicts Alabama with its counties in contrasting colors and topographical features shown.  Major towns and cities are located and stage, rail and canal routes identified. Post Offices, Salt Works, Ferries and Military Forts are also located.

The inset, left, lists the Steam Boat Routes from ''Mobile to Tuscaloosa'', ''Mobile to Montgomery'' and ''Mobile to Pensacola''.  An excellent view of the state as it existed prior to the Civil War!
