This very detailed map depicts the NEW STATE OF COLORADO with its counties named and in contrasting colors. Topographical features are shown with major cities, towns, Indian Reservations, roads, waterways, mountain ranges & peaks (many with elevations provided) and railroads identified.
The plat lines show that only about 1/3 of the state had been surveyed by this time. A very informative view of the new state as it existed in the 1870's.
