Original manuscript leaf from a mid 17th century Arabic book of religious writings, primarily sermons based on the life of the Prophet. (195 x 128mm - 7.8 x 5.1", Text block 150 x 80 mm - 6 x 3.2")
Written on hand made blue-gray native polished paper in a clear upright naskhi script (the parent of modern Arabic writing), with diacritics in black. The name of Allah is repeatedly written in red. Margins ruled in blue with burnished gold. The leaf is divided with nine lines of script on each side, bordered by gold.
