This very detailed map depicts Charleston, South Carolina in great detail, on a scale of 1:25000 ! Topographical features are shown and county boundaries delineated. The key at the bottom left identifies railroads (standard and narrow gauge), roads, schools, churches, waterways, vineyards, dams, wharfs and much more. Channels, islands, and the Battery are also located.
This is a scarce and highly accurate map developed by the US Army as part of the WWII war effort. Examples were distributed to select libraries after the war.
