This early leaf consists of text printed in gothic letters. The red illuminated “F” in the central text block begins Galatians 6:1-14 “Fratres et…(Brethren, and if a man be overtaken in any fault, you, who are spiritual, instruct such a one in the spirit of meekness, considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. Bear ye one another’s burdens; and so you shall fulfill the law of Christ…He  that soweth in the spirit, of the spirit shall reap life everlasting…). 

The central text is surrounded by Nicolaus de Lyra’s famous commentary. “This work, which was used by Luther, and influenced some of his writings” was first published with the biblical text in 1481.
