This scarce and unusually detailed map depicts the Streets of Chicago, as they were known in the early 1890’s. The city limits are shown outlined in a deep red. Railroads and canals are identified throughout the map. Streets are named and parks & cemeteries are located. 

Also shown is the “Indian Boundary Line” along the northern and southern portions of the city.

The inset, on the right, depicts a “MAP OF THE BUSINESS PORTION OF CHICAGO. SHOWING RAILROAD DEPOTS”.

The location selected for the “World’s Columbian Exposition, 1893” is prominently colored and labeled in red with buildings identified.
