Handled Cup
Late Bronze Age, c. 1500-1200 BC
Ancient Mid-Eastern buff-gray pottery cup with applied handle. Nicely shaped and in excellent condition with no cracks and tiny rim chips. The bulb shaped body of the cup has a slightly flared rim and tapers dramatically to a very small foot, less than an inch across. It is masterfully crafted to balance with ease. The attractive surface still shows some deposits from burial.
An excellent example of 3000 year old utility ware.
Provenance: Ex private Ohio collection, collected in the Mideast in the early 1960’s.
