One multi-line illuminated initial in red with intricate blue scrollwork –extending along the length of the text.
One elaborately decorated calligraphic initial noting significant text (Luke 12:48 - ''And unto whomsoever much is give, of him much shall be required...'').
The large size of the page is unusual in 13th century Bible production!
Line two begins Luke 12:7 - 13:28: ''Sed et capilli...'' (Yea, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: you are of more value than many sparrows. And I say to you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God...Consider the lilies, how they grow: they labor not, neither do they spin. But I say to you, not even Solomon in all his glory was clothed like one of these...Be you then also ready: for at what hour you think not, the Son of man will come...Unless you shall do penance, you shall all likewise perish...The kingdom of god is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took and cast into his garden, and grew and became a great tree, and the birds of the air lodged in the branches thereof...).
