An English manuscript legal document executed by hand in dark brown ink on animal parchment, written in Latin. Relating to an exemplification of fine between John Mawhood, S.T.P., and Thomas Hall, gentleman versus Francis Armitage, esquire, Mary his wife, Charles Snowsell, Rebecca his wife, Christofer Snoden, and Mary his wife re messuages, land, common pasture and turbary (peat bog) in various locations in West Riding.

An elaborate document in a fine court/chancery departmental calligraphy. The document is embellished by a large engraved heading with the portrait of  King William III and heraldic creatures (two crowned Lions, Eagles and a Unicorn). It is dated 23rd October 8th year of the reign of William III (1696).

In good condition - with the blue paper tax stamp - previously folded.

Size is approximately 23 x 30 inches.
