This image is the Frontis leaf from the Thornton volume.

It depicts "Flora dispensing Her Favours on the Earth".

The image introduces the “Temple of Flora”, the first floral prints with a landscape background. These famous dramatic images, with their exotic and dramatic setting, are a technical masterpiece - a rare combination of aquatint, mezzotint and line engraving - partially printed in color and partially colored by hand.

Sheet size is 15 x 12 inches. Image size is approximately 12.75 x 9.25 inches.
