This attractive historical map shows the continent of Africa with countries named and in contrasting pastel colors.  Explored and settled areas along the coastal regions are detailed along with the “latest” information regarding the central areas.

South Africa is divided into the Cape Colony, The Transvaal Republic and the Orange River (Colony). Victoria Falls is marked in its correct position.

The routes of Stanley and Livingstone and others are also shown. The inset depicts the “Island of St. Helena” where Napoleon died and was buried.
