Three multi-line illuminated initials in red extending past the length of the text in blue and red penwork; One illuminated chapter number with intricate red and blue penwork extending along the margin. 50 lines of text in double columns (11 lines per inch!).
One three-line illuminated initial in blue with delicate white penwork, with an interior containing a dragon-like creature in pink and white on deep blue – all on a pink ground; burnished gold, all on a deep blue ground. One multi-line historiated initial “P” containing an intricate miniature painting of St. Paul holding his attribute the sword extending down the margin.

The text begins II Thessalonians 2:1 – 3:18: “Rogamus…” (And we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and of our gathering together unto him…).
The three-line “C” begins the Prologue to Colossians: “Colossenses…” (The Colossians, they too are Asians, just as the Laodiceans. And they themselves had been reached by pseudo-apostles, nor did the apostle himself approach them, but even them he corrects through an epistle. For they had heard the word from Archippus, who also accepted the ministry to them. The apostle therefore, already arrested, writes to them from Ephesus).
The historiated “P” begins Colossians 1:1 – 3:1: “Paulus…” (Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ, by the will of God…).
Attractive mid-13th century leaf in nice condition. Some tiny show thru on the remarkably thin vellum.
