This detailed map depicts the territories of Idaho (statehood 1890), Montana  (statehood 1889) and Wyoming  (statehood 1890).   Topographical features are shown and major cities, towns, mountain passes and railroads are located. 

The ''Proposed National Park" is noted where Yellowstone would soon be. Gold mines in Idaho County, and Nezperce County, Idaho are also shown.

Indian Villages, Tribes and Agencies are shown throughout the map, and the "Common Hunting Ground of the Blackfeet & Assiniboinn" located in northern Montana.  Published just two years before the Battle of Little Big Horn.
