This detailed historical map depicts the Texas with its counties named and in contrasting colors.  Topographical features are shown (and described) with major towns, cities, water routes, mountain passes and land routes identified. 

Sites of important Battles in the Texas War of Independence are noted throughout (Ft. Alamo, Palo Alto, Resaca de la Palma…). The inset shows “Galveston Bay, and Vicinity.” A fascinating view of the state as it existed during the Civil War.
