This map depicts the new state of Florida (admitted 1845), with its counties named and in contrasting colors and topographical features shown. 

Routes of the Army during Seminole War are shown along with the battle dates (including ''Dades Massacre Dec. 28, 35''). Land and water routes are shown with distances provided in the insets top and bottom.

The three colorful insets depict the street plans of ''Pensacola'' and ''Tallahassee'' (with several buildings identified) and the ''Harbour of St. Augustine'' (with soundings provided).  An excellent view of the new state as it existed Prior to the Civil War!
