A very fine original etching by Conrad Ahrendts (1855-1901). Five mounted German soldiers, holding flags are shown with a town in the background, and a rabbit scrambling away (left). The etching is set during the Franco-Prussian War (July 1870-May 1871).
Signed and dated in the plate at lower left.
Ahrendts (1855-1901) was a painter and illustrator who exhibited throughout Germany, including Berlin. Reference: Benezit.
