This historical map depicts Scotland with its counties named and in contrasting colors.  Topographical features are shown with cities, towns and waterways identified. Canals, railroads and major roads are delineated. Islands are named and many castles located.

The inset, upper left, depicts “The Shetland Isles”. A very attractive view of Scotland as it was known in the mid-19th century.
