This highly informative and very scarce map depicts the states of Oregon, California and Nevada, and the territories of Washington (statehood 1889) and Idaho, (statehood 1890).
Counties are named and in contrasting colors. Numerous roads are shown including existing and proposed railroad routes, U S Mail Route, Wagon Road from Los Angeles to Salt Lake, The Pony Express, and Indian tribes are located throughout.
Military Forts and camps, wells, springs, rivers and mountains (including major peaks) as well as mining districts in southeastern Oregon and quartz mines in central Idaho are also shown.
“Unexplored Regions” are noted in Oregon and Nevada.
