Original cutting on animal parchment from a manuscript Antiphonal. (105 x 80 mm - 4 1/8 x 3 1/8'') 

The large inhabited initial ''F'' is painted in bright red within a rectangular blue and red frame which also contains a lion (symbol of Christ, the Lord of Life), camel (symbol of temperance), a dog chasing a rabbit, two colorful birds,  a palm tree and flowers!! Painted in temperas of green, red, blue and brown, .

Antiphonals contain chants for the canonical hours of the Divine Office: first vespers or the vigil of great feasts, matins, lauds, prime, terce, sext, none, vespers and compline.
