This scarce English map of Spain & Portugal, from Senex's New General Atlas – and one of the earliest obtainable atlas maps of the Iberian Peninsula published in England.

The map extends east to include the Balearic Islands, southwestern France and the northwestern tip of Africa. Topographical features are shown, and major towns, cities, roads, rivers, castles, lakes, mountains, and islands are located. The map includes a large decorative cartouche and compass rose.

 This is one of the last maps to show Gibraltar as part of Spain for the peninsula & rock were captured by the British in 1704 during the war of Spanish Succession, it was made a British colony under the treaty of Utrecht in 1713.
